Garden Playroom

MAKE LIFE EASIER WITH A GARDEN PLAYROOM

Kids love their toys, and they usually have plenty of them. Those toys tend to migrate to all areas of your home and as soon as you have tidied them away, they reappear to clutter your rooms. If you are tired of tripping over Barbie and Elsa or searching for soldiers under your sofa, a garden playroom could be a life-changing investment.

One of our garden retreats would give you the perfect playroom. With all your kids’ toys stored in the playroom, your home will remain blissfully clutter-free, and your youngsters will be thrilled to have their own special space in which to play. You can choose from a variety of sizes to suit both your garden and the needs of your little ones. Your retreat will make life easier and enhance the value of your property. When your little ones have grown up, the playroom could be repurposed to become a home office, additional accommodation, a garden gym or perhaps a playroom for big kids! Garden retreats are ideal for housing pool tables and trainsets or for playing darts and cards. A garden retreat can be anything you want it to be and if it is to become a playroom, it could save your sanity.

  • CLEAR CLUTTER
Toys get everywhere and can quickly takeover your home. Wouldn’t it be great if they could all be stored in your garden room, leaving your indoor spaces clutter-free?
  • SAVE SPACE INDOORS
You don’t need to lose a spare bedroom, your conservatory or half of your living space to accommodate your kids toys and games.
  • KIDS’ PARADISE
Your youngsters will adore having their own special space. Their playroom will become their kingdom and can be decorated to spark their imaginations.
  • REDUCE NOISE
Kids tend to make a lot of noise when they are having fun. You can confine that noise to the playroom, giving you a quiet and peaceful home at least some of the time!

Give your kids a space to call their own

The best way to make children good is to make them happy.

Oscar Wilde

Why kids need their own space

Playrooms are certainly fun, but they can also aid your youngsters’ development, especially if they don’t each have their own bedroom. Research has shown that if children benefit from a space to call their own, they mature faster than those who don’t. The playroom will certainly give kids an opportunity to express their own personal style, if you enlist their help when decorating it. They will have a private space when they need one and this can be crucial for introverted children. It’s always good to have somewhere for kids to calm down after arguments and giving them their own space to manage will inspire a sense of responsibility. A playroom can teach youngsters the advantages of keeping their space clean, tidy and organised. Older children may find that they can establish stronger friendships when they can invite their mates to spend time in the playroom.

  • INSPIRE MATURITY
Kids can mature quickly and become more responsible when they have their own space to decorate, organise and keep clean.
  • GARDEN VIEW
Research has repeatedly shown that connecting with nature will improve anyone’s mood and motivation. Kids will always benefit from a garden view.
  • VERSATILE
Your playroom can easily be repurposed when your kids no longer need it. Garden retreats are versatile buildings that can become whatever you need them to be.
  • INVESTMENT
A garden playroom is an investment in your kids’ happiness and your sanity but also in your property. It cannot fail to improve the curb appeal and the value of your home.

Garden playrooms for big kids

Playrooms are wonderful for children, but big kids love to play too. Play is an important and uplifting aspect of life, even for grown-ups but most homes don’t feature the space required for big kids to play their games. If your trainset has taken over your loft, you love to play darts or your bridge club needs a home, why not treat yourself to a garden playroom? You will be able to enjoy your hobby whenever you wish and without getting in the way of your family. If you crave peace, you will benefit from a quiet haven but if you enjoy having your friends around, your retreat could become a fabulous social space filled with laughter.

Don’t forget that play is a serious matter

The true object of all human life is play.

G. K. Chesterton

How to plan the ideal garden playroom

There is much to consider before ordering your playroom. Choosing a building of the correct size is key. Your retreat must be large enough to accommodate your kids’ toys or perhaps your special toys but shouldn’t be so large that it overwhelms your garden. Our impressive garden retreats are available in numerous sizes and so you can select a building that works well for you while suiting your outside space. To benefit from the ideal playroom, here’s what you need to think about:

  • Aspect
where and how should your playroom be positioned? If the kids will be using the retreat, it would be best located where you can see it but where it will also afford a great view of the garden.
  • Toys
how many toys will be stored in the building? Are there any large toys to be accommodated such as dolls’ houses or racetracks?
  • Storage
Some toys can be left out all the time but how much storage do you need for the rest?
  • Flooring
choose a robust flooring that won’t damage easily and that is hassle-free to clean.
  • Finishes
your playroom will remain pristine for longer if you choose wipe-clean finishes such as wipeable paint for the walls.
  • Power
how many sockets will you require and where should they be located?
  • Broadband
do you need broadband and if so, how will you extend it to your building? You can do this via powerline networking, ethernet cable or WiFi PtP.
  • Heating and aircon
kids won’t want to play in a space that is freezing in winter or too hot in summer.
  • Versatility
you may need a playroom right now but what about in the future? To maximise the benefits of a garden room and the value it can add to your property, design a space that could be repurposed in the future to become agarden accommodation, an art studio, a craft room, agarden office or a summer house.

Once you have identified everything that must be accommodated in your playroom and where the garden building should be located, you can settle upon the right size of garden retreat. We will build a fabulous playroom that you and your little ones can complete with all the finishing touches that will spark your kids’ imaginations.
